Supported metal clusters are considered as promising cocatalysts in heterogeneous photocatalysis due to their singular geometric structures and unique reactivity. Nevertheless, explore efficient synthetic routes that result stable supported with tailored active sites is an urgent yet challenging task. Here, a photocatalyst highly dispersed Pd onto TiO 2 synthesized through only one-step ball milling procedure. The obtained form particular metal-support interface, which has the ability rearrange small evolving into nanoparticles during photocatalytic H production process, maintain performance up 100 h of continuous operation. Moreover, interaction between titania support was observed ball-milled sample, it disappeared after calcination treatment. mechanochemical strategy paves way stabilize semiconductors without any organic compounds involved. • by simple from acetate. Mechanochemically manufactured Pd/TiO displays superior activity. mechanochemically metal-oxide interface. resultant interface crucial for cluster stabilization.
